The Malaysian BRDC F3 driver, Nazim Azman, shares his FIA F3 test reviews and future predictions.

Nazim Azman was fifth in the British F3 championship last season, collecting two wins and eight podiums in total. He joined the FIA F3 test in Jerez back in October, competing with around 29 other cars with the same potential to prove their best.

The nineteen-year-old driver is on the rise as he set his eyes on another international championship that he might join in the next following years after stepping outside local race events for nearly seven years.

Nazim Azman tells us about his positive comments on the test and how blurry predictions could be for him when he is still looking out for options in 2021.

Are you enjoying the off-season?

Well, off-season is just as hard as the actual season it’s where you do most of the testing for next year.

As a young and inspiring Asian driver, what are your biggest dream to achieve?

I’m not sure to be honest I’m just going to see how far I make it in single seaters and just see where it takes me

How would you reflect on being fifth in the F3 British championship last season?

It was an ok season I think we struggled midway, but we started and ended relatively strongly I believe.

Let’s start up with our very first question about the FIA F3 test review that you had in Jerez. How would you sum it all up?

It was a good test ,FIA f3 is as hard as it gets in terms of competitiveness with 30 cars and I think I adapted to the car decently well.

It’s tricky because you don’t get a lot of laps, maybe 20 push laps in total throughout the day so there’s not really a lot of time to learn in that sense. It was very enjoyable a big step in power and speed from British F3 but overall I think a positive test.

Do you think your racing experiences helped you better in driving an F3 car?

Well, yes of course you can only learn with experience and driving many cars to learn to adapt properly and quickly.

By that, do you probably see a future with FIA F3 as a move from the BRDC F3 championship? Do you aim to get there as their driver?

I’m not sure and I don’t want to say anything yet because it’s not confirmed but i am looking at other options right now.

And from the two wins and eight podiums that you have earned in total last year, are you still keeping on track to get more positive results coming in for you?

I think so, I think next year we can achieve some really good results, so I’m really looking forward to it.
