Ayumu Iwasa completed the FIA Formula 3 testing session in Jerez as the fastest driver from the grid with 1:29.884 for Hitech.
Just half an hour after the afternoon session started on the second day from the FIA F3 in-season test in Jerez, the rookie managed to set the quickest time from the leaderboard ahead of the current championship leader Dennis Hauger in second for Prema.
It was a successful day for Prema, with the Italian team’s progress throughout the weekend with Olli Caldwell in third fastest as he was only 0.155 slower than his teammate.
The British driver marked his first time entering the top 3 after facing a challenging time on the previous results where he only finished outside the top 10.
Both Hitech drivers ended the session inside the top 5 as Jak Crawford and Roman Stanek claimed the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The rookie Jonny Edgar finished sixth as he gained four positions from the morning session for Carlin, with Jenzer Motorsport’s Calan Wiliams in seventh ahead of Lorenzo Colombo coming in eight for Campos Racing.
Jack Doohan, who was fastest on both sessions from the first day of the testing, closed the day in ninth fastest for Trident.
Three of the Prema drivers managed to enter the top 10, with Arthur Leclerc finishing off the session in tenth, proving his best result from the weekend with a 1:30.947 before the standards from the boards were set to 1m 31s.
The next FIA Formula 3 race will be held on 25-27 June alongside the Formula One French Grand Prix in Le Castellet.
