Johan Kristoffersson wins round three of 2020 FIA World RX in Finland.

Kristoffersson takes maximum points away from round three of the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship in Finland.

Starting the final on pole position, Kristoffersson led the race from light to flag to take his 22nd World RX career win.

Juha Rytkonen, making the final on his World RX debut, started the race on the front row. Timing his joker lap to cover off those behind meant that the Finnish driver took second place.

Timmy Hansen left his joker until the last lap where he came out alongside Niclas Gronholm, who took his joker on lap one. With only one turn before the finish line, Hansen held on to take the final step on the podium.

Timo Scheider finished fifth behind Gronholm. Kevin Hansen was out wide at turn one which dropped him down to fifth. Scheider was able to get the jump on him over the joker laps for Kevin Hansen to finish the race sixth.

Missing out on a final place from the first semi-final was Andreas Bakkerud and Timur Timerzyanov. Anton Marklund was a retirement from the race, still suffering with problems from Q3.

Jere Kalliokoski just missed out on the final at his home event, whilst the two KYB Team JC cars of Mattias Ekstrom and Robin Larsson had failures which saw them both retire from the race.

After three rounds Kristoffersson leads the drivers’ championship from Ekstrom by 16 points, with the Hansen brothers tied in third place. KYB Team JC lead the team championship by 19 points from Team Hansen.

World RX returns with round four tomorrow in the second weekend of double-headers.
