Australian driver Bart Horsten is set to return to the BRDC British F3 championship for a second year. He will join Hitech for his 2021 campaign.
After a successful campaign in 2020 with Lanan racing, Australian driver Bart Horsten has moved to Hitech GP for his second season in British F3. Horsten had a successful first season in British F3 and stood on the podium three times. His impressive skills were showcased early on when he finished on the podium in his second race of the season. Ultimately finishing the year in 10th in the championship.
The 17-year-old has had an impressive career in single-seater racing. Finishing the British F4 championship with a race win and stepping up after his first season to British F3.
Speaking on his time in British F3 and his move to Hitech, Bart Horsten has said: “I really enjoyed competing in the BRDC British F3 Championship last year, so I feel as though it was the obvious choice to make a return for another season and this time with the intention of challenging for the title.
“I’m really excited to be joining Hitech GP. They are an amazing team in terms of their professionalism, their facilities and the resources at their disposal. There’s a lot that can be achieved for myself and the team in 2021, so I cannot wait to start working with them in earnest.
“I’m very fortunate to be given the opportunity to drive for them this year and I’ll be giving everything I’ve got to succeed. I look forward to starting our pre-season testing programme soon and we’ll be ready to hit the ground running when the season starts in May.”
Team principal Oliver Oakes has said: “We are excited to welcome Bart to the team. He had a strong rookie season last year in British F3, impressing us with his natural speed and approach. We look forward to seeing him develop into a championship contender this season.”
The British F3 calendar has been revised due to the coronavirus pandemic and is due to begin on 22nd May at Brands Hatch.
