British F3: Alex Connor to graduate to BRDC British F3 with Arden Motorsport for his 2021 Campaign

British Driver Alex Connor is set to stay with Arden Motorsport in 2021, Graduating from British F4 to BRDC British F3.

The young brit previously raced with the outfit in British F4 and will graduate to British F3 in 2021. Connor joined Arden’s Young Racing Driver Academy after a successful season in karting in 2017. 

In his debut British F4 season in 2019, he claimed five class victories and 17 podiums. At the end of the season, he was awarded the vice-champion honours in the Rookie Cup. In the final race of the season at Brands Hatch, he claimed his first podium and pole position. Connor then returned to the series in 2020 where he took charge of the grid. Where he was mostly seen at the front of the pack. 

Connor is set to join teammate Frederick Lubin for the 2021 BRDC British F3 season.

Talking about the BRDC British F3 Rookie, Team Principal Garry Horner has said: “I’m delighted to see our partnership with Alex continue as he makes the step up to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship for the 2021 season.

“He’s a proven talent after a successful two-year stint in F4, and his track record really does speak for itself.

“The time for him to make that step up into F3 is definitely now, and we’re very pleased to welcome him back for what will be a new and exciting challenge for the whole team.”

Talking about his upcoming BRDC British F3 season, Alex Connor has said: “I’m very happy to have the chance to move up to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with Arden.

“The team and the YRDA have supported me from the very start of my racing journey and we all worked very well together in British F4 so I know that we are going to be able to focus 100% on a really strong debut season right from the start.

The championship races on some of my favourite tracks, so I can’t wait to tackle them with the extra speed and power of the F3 car – and I know that Spa is going to be awesome!”

The British F3 calendar has been revised due to the coronavirus pandemic and is due to begin on 22nd May at Brands Hatch.
