Colin Turkington took his and Team BMW’s first victory of the season in dominant fashion at Snetterton this morning.
Inherited polesitter Turkington kept the lead at the start but was immediately put under pressure by fellow front row starter Tom Ingram.
Ingram attempted a move on the outside of Agostini and although contact was made, both were able to carry without losing any positions.
Butcher held onto third but it was Jackson who made a great start putting himself into fourth.
Turkington, Ingram and Rory Butcher immediately started to build a gap to fourth-placed Jackson building up to a 6 second lead just six laps into the race.
Stephen Jelley was the only driver to pass Jackson after a very good defensive display from the MB Motorsport driver.
Turkington appeared to have the race under total control, increasing his pace whenever Ingram was on a charge.
Turkington took victory from Ingram by just under three seconds.
Butcher finished third, well ahead of Jelley in fourth.
Jackson’s defensive heroics gave him his first top five finish of the year just in front of Adam Morgan and Dan Lloyd.
Tom Oliphant made it four BMW’s in the top eight just ahead of championship leader Jake Hill and Chris Smiley, who completed the top ten.
