With three races of the 2020 Formula 3 Championship remaining Hitech racing have parted ways with British driver Max Fewtrell. Meanwhile, David Schumacher has made the move from Charouz to Carling.
On Monday evening, Hitech Grand Prix announced they had parted company with British driver Max Fewtrell.
Despite a promising 2019 season, Fewtrell’s 2020 campaign has not been as successful as hoped by the British driver. Fewtrell currently sits nineteenth in the championship, 94 points behind teammate Liam Lawson. Fewtrell expressed his disappointment at his departure from the team but made no further comment regarding his plans for next year.
For the remainder of the 2020 season, Fewtrell’s seat will be taken by eighteen year old French driver Pierre-Louis Chovet. Chovet currently races for Van Amersfoort Racing in the 2020 Formula Regional European Championship. The young driver has showed great promise in both karting and single seater racing, winning his first single-seater race at fifteen years old.
David Schumacher
There has also been movement for David Schumacher who has made the move from Charouz to Carlin Buzz Racing. Schumacher will drive for the Carlin team for the remaining three races of the 2020 season.
Schumacher will join Clement Novalak and Cameron Das at the Carlin team with hopes to achieve a season best result in the remaining races. Like Fewtrell, Schumacher’s 2020 campaign has not been as fruitful as the German driver had been hoping, with no points currently on the board. Schumacher’s best result with Charouz came in the opening rounds at Spielberg with a 12th place finish.
Charouz have currently made no announcement as to who will replace Schumacher for the remainder of the season.
Sophia Floersch
Campos driver Sophia Floersch will be absent from Spa this weekend as the German driver prepares to make her European Le Mans series debut. It is expected that Floersch will return to the Campos team ahead of Monza.
Campos have announced that German driver Andreas Estner will deputise for Floersch this race weekend.
