We’re in store for another master class as Dave Newsham will once again get behind the wheel of Kelvin Fletcher’s Power Maxed Racing Chevrolet Cruze.
Newsham had an excellent weekend a week ago at Knockhill, where he took the team’s best ever finish. Now, with baby Fletcher still not born, he’ll get back into the driving seat at Rockingham next weekend.
“The response before I got to the track was overwhelming on social media, and after I arrived, well, it went to another level,” said Newsham, who took seventh place in the first race at Knockhill. “I didn’t think anyone would really miss me, but I couldn’t have been more wrong, thankfully. I can’t wait to get back in the car at Rockingham.”
Newsham spoke after the race about returning the BTCC grid in 2017, with his Knockhill performance acting as a showcase for sponsors. Now he’s got another chance to show what he can do on track.
“Longer term, I want to do everything I can to get back to the BTCC,” he said. “The chance to have another weekend in the championship I love is perfect, though we will all be thinking of Kelvin and his partner, awaiting some happy news.”
Kelvin Fletcher is expected to return for the final two rounds of the season.
