Proctor aiming to prove himself in debut season

Eighteen year old Senna Proctor aims to prove he’s not taken to step up to the British Touring Car Championship too early in his debut season in the championship.

Proctor, who is no stranger to the TOCA package, having competed in the Ginetta Junior championship for two years and the Clio Cup for one, was announced as one of Power Maxed Racing’s two drivers for the 2017 season.

The teenager will partner Tom Chilton, who makes his BTCC return after racing in the World Touring Car Championship for the past few seasons, and hopes he’ll be able to learn from the older driver.

“The experience that I can learn off of [Chilton] is going to be invaluable, so hopefully it’s a partnership that me and him can both thrive from,” Proctor said. “Hopefully we’ll push each other on through the season and get some strong results for Power Maxed Racing.”

Proctor has high expectations for a team as a whole, too, who will run in 2017 as a manufacturer, after securing backing from Vauxhall over the winter break.

“Power Maxed Racing are only entering their third year in the championship and they’ve got the support of Vauxhall as a manufacturer team so it’s all exciting times,” he said.

The BTCC rookie will begin testing in February. The team’s Vauxhalls for 2017 are still in build.
