Quentin Dall’olmo wins World RX Esports Montalegre Edition

Quentin Dall’olmo takes the second World RX Esports Invitational win at the Montalegre Edition.

World RX Esports Invitational returned with the Montalegre Edition where Esports specialist Quentin Dall’olmo took the win.

The event was once again run in DiRT Rally 2.0 with partnership from Codemasters and Motorsport Games. World RX champion Timmy Hansen and DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series champion Killian Dall’olmo were amongst those returning. The Montalegre edition also saw appearances from current Formula E championship leader, Antonio Felix da Costa, and former F1 star Mika Salo.

Going into the semi-finals Quentin Dall’olmo was the top qualifier, as he was at the Catalunya Edition. Dall’olmo was second to brother Killian Dall’olmo for the last lap of the race after taking his joker. However a 20 second penalty for a jump start put Killian to the back of the result.

Jon Armstrong was promoted to second place. The winner from the Catalunya edition, Mattias Adielsson also picked up a penalty for contact with Shane Van Gisbergen, of Australian supercars fame, who was then promoted to third.

The big names who didn’t make it out of the semi-finals were the two Hansen brother, Timmy and Kevin, as well as Lukas Mateja who was third in the previous event.

Also missing out on the final was Rokas Baciuska and Henrik Krogstad.

The World EX Esports Invitational is expected to return, but the date and location is yet to be announced.
