BTCC: Rowbottom claims pole at Thruxton

@TeamDynamics on Twitter

Dan Rowbottom took the second pole position of his career at Thruxton, pipping Jake Hill by less than a tenth of a second.

Rowbottom set a fantastic lap late in the session to beat Hill by just 0.086s with Josh Cook a further 0.025s behind.

The result confirms Honda’s dominance around the Hampshire circuit and although Gordon Shedden qualified 14th, the true pace of the car wasn’t fully realised.

Rory Butcher finished the session in fourth just ahead of the BMW’s of Tom Oliphant and Adam Morgan.

Reigning champion Ash Sutton qualified seventh ahead of the impressive Dan Lloyd.

Colin Turkington finished the session in ninth just 0.008s ahead of the Honda of Senna Proctor.
