Reece Ushijima is set to race for a second season in BRDC British F3 with Hitech GP for his 2021 campaign. He remains with the team after his debut last year.
The American-Japanese driver had a stellar rookie season. His best result saw him in second place as well as finishing as a runner-up twice and regularly crossed the finish line in the top ten. He finished the season 11th in the Championship. Prior to taking to the BRDC British F3 circuits, Ushijima raced in Formula Ford 1600 and the Asian based MRF challenge in 2019.
Ushijima also competed in the FIA Asian F3 Championship with the Silverstone based outfit earlier this year, finishing 12th overall.
He will join previously announced teammates, Bart Horsten and Sebastian Alvarez. Completing the 2021 Hitech GP lineup for the BRDC British F3 season.
Reece has said: “I’m thrilled to be back for another season of British F3 with Hitech GP. The team and I had a strong season last year where I personally learned a lot, and this year I’m ready to put all of that to practice. Super grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get the season started.”
The British F3 calendar has been revised due to the coronavirus pandemic and is due to begin on 22nd May at Brands Hatch.
