Josh Cook took his and BTC Racing’s second victory of the day at Thruxton after a spectacular first lap crash caused the season’s first red flag.
Cook kept the lead off the line from Tom Ingram and Jake Hill, but an incident between Andy Neate, Jade Edwards and Glynn Geddie at turn 1 saw the Scotsman flip and end up on his roof.
Unsurprisingly the red flag was brought out to recover the cars and repair the tyre barrier.
Neate, Edwards and Geddie were unable to take the restart due to damage.
Cook again kept the lead at the restart but Ingram was able to attack into Campbell with the two making contact with Ingram falling down the field.
Cook stayed in the lead, however Dan Cammish was able to work his way into 2nd ahead of Hill and Jason Plato.
The Safety Car was then deployed after Rory Butcher slammed into the wall at the exit of Noble.
The race restarted on lap six with Cook opening a gap to Cammish and Hill.
The top three were unchallenged for the rest of the race with Daniel Rowbottom overtaking Plato late on to take a career best finish of fourth.
Ingram finished sixth ahead of Colin Turkington with Aiden Moffat, Ash Sutton and Tom Oliphant rounding out the top 10.
Stephen Jelley will start on reverse grid pole.
