Michael Jordan: The First Dance
One of the biggest storylines ahead of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season is the arrival of Michael Jordan. The NBA legend started his very own racing team alongside co-owner Denny Hamlin. 23XI will work alongside Toyota Racing Development and Joe Gibbs Racing. This is as important off the track as it is on it, here’s why.
Jordan is the first black team majority owner since Wendell Scott in 1973. Furthermore, as previously mentioned, he’ll work with JGR by way of Denny Hamlin. Having the top Toyota team behind you will surely be a big plus in years to come. The 23 Camry will be driven by none other than Bubba Wallace. This is not only interesting because he’s got a lot of untapped potential, but also because he and his fellow cup drivers will race where they’ve never raced before.
